About the project
The Erasmus Janus Master in Security and Defense is a collaborative project initiated by Jean Moulin University Lyon 3, involving partnerships with universities in Namur, Lyon, Beirut, Granada, and Bucharest. This new master’s program focuses on providing comprehensive education in security and defense, tailored to address the complexities of contemporary global challenges.

Our task was to create a dedicated website for the Erasmus Janus Master, ensuring it would serve as an effective platform for attracting and informing prospective students across Europe and beyond. The goal was to design a user-friendly website that reflects the collaborative nature of the project and the academic rigor of the program. Customising features to facilitate multi-university collaboration and student engagement across different regions posed a significant challenge.

Our solution
Brand Identity
We developed a modern visual identity for the Erasmus Janus Master that reflects the program’s focus on security and defense. The new branding is designed to unify the five universities and present a cohesive image that resonates with students interested in international security issues.
UI/UX Design
The website is crafted to be intuitive, with a layout that facilitates easy navigation and access to information about the curriculum, faculties, and application processes. It includes features tailored to enhance user engagement and academic inquiry.
Web Development
We built a responsive and multilingual website that provides seamless access on various devices, ensuring that students from different linguistic backgrounds can engage with the content effectively. The website integrates tools that support collaboration and communication among the partner universities.

Fast loading times and robust security measures are in place to safeguard the website and its users, providing a reliable online experience.

JANUS's new website positions the Erasmus Master in Security and Defense as a credible, unified platform. It boosts visibility for the program, supports international student engagement, and strengthens the academic standing of the participating universities.
Creative direction
We refined JANUS’s identity by drawing on its essence and evolving the logo into a more robust, contemporary symbol linked to the concepts of duality, protection and security. Building on this new brand, we developed a visual system based on the blue/orange colour contrast, modular compositions, linear illustration and an editorial-style typeface. The result was translated into a coherent, clear and recognisable digital experience, designed to give personality to an organisation specialising in security and defence.
